Meet our hibiscus farmer, Laureano. Laureano Ramírez Pacheco’s family has passed down knowledge of how to cultivate and perfect hibiscus from generation to generation. Today the men in his family work in the fields while the women oversee the drying process of the calyces. All of the harvesting is done by hand. The flowers are used to make our hibiscus salsa, which is made by Tereza, a true "hechihera de cocina" (sorceress of the kitchen).
