Description

Did you know that the world's best-selling coffee liqueur originated in Mexico? Kahlúa, or "house of the Acolhua people" in the Veracruz Nahuatl language, is made from a combination of coffee, rum, corn syrup, and vanilla beans from the eastern state of Veracruz in Mexico - where we also get our luxury Mexican vanilla beans from.

We decided to use our vanilla beans to make a little twist on the Brave Bull cocktail - a Smoky Brave Bull: The smoky agave of the mezcal and the woody notes of Mexican vanilla add an extra flavor dimension into the mix!

Method

  1. Deseed the Mexican vanilla bean by cutting it lengthwise and scraping out the seeds (you can save half of the bean for another use)
  2. Pour the mezcal and the seeds from half a vanilla bean into a cocktail shaker with a couple of ice cubes and shake for 10 seconds.
  3. Pour the content of the shaker into a glass with ice cubes, add the kahlua and swirl the glass to mix the ingredients lightly. Salud!
